Hi all,
For those driving from Indiana/Ohio/Western PA, I've found that skipping I-70 in
PA (The Pennslvania Turnpike) makes for a better drive. I live in the DC
region, and I take I-68 through Western Maryland instead when heading to the
Midwest. The interstate runs through the mountains, but isn't covered with
potholes & traffic cones like the PA TPK. Consult a road atlas & traffic
advisories to be sure, but I've found it to be a much more relaxed drive & a
slightly faster route, especially considering the traffic density one gets in
PA.

| (...) Interesting info! I am coming from Grand Rapids MI, via the Ohio Turnpike so where should I cut over to I 68 if I choose to do that? Thanks for sharing this tidbit (21 years ago, 6-Aug-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

| (...) Hrm. Mapquest.com shows the route down into WV and along I-68 starting from Cleveland is 70 miles longer than taking I-70 straight through. Is it really faster? That's quite impressive if so. Adrian (21 years ago, 6-Aug-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest)
