...The plans sound good! I was thinking about the skirmish games in particular
as a great way to bring people in. I cant wait to see the big spaceship battle!
That's going to be impressive (make sure we have a combat reporter there to
capture all the action :-)
...The Treasure hunt also sounds like fun. I'll be interested in hearing this
one flesh out :-)
...Stealing an idea from Games Workshop stores, we could design a "micro
skirmish". 2 sides, 2 squads per side (maybe 10 units?). Only have 1 or 2 kinds
of weapons and a dirt simple objective like "Capture a box and hold it for 1
turn". We could prolly get all the important rules that would affect the
skirmish onto one page. If we start the sides just outside of firing range of
the target (maybe 15" or so... 30" total width of field), the whole match really
should only last 4 or 5 turns and take 1/2 an hour or less.
...We could provide the squads, a few pieces of terrain, and a table and it
could be a great intro to the game, and only a minor investment in time. Once
they play the intro, they can be dragged into the rest.
...I've seen Games Workshop do this kind of thing both with TL2 an TL5 settings,
so I'm sure we can adapt it to our situation :-)

| John Kornhaus and I were dicussing this last week. We came up with the following proposal, which is not set in stone yet: 1. At least one fairly big game, probably for more experienced players. John's great idea for this was a "spaceship battle". (...) (24 years ago, 23-May-01, to lugnet.events.brickfest)
