Many national events are held in the Midwest because it's so cheap to organize
accomodations. I'll be at a ten day event with >200 people in April in
Columbus and our rooms are $79 per night. That beats the snot out of $150.
I'd love to see an event in Chicago or St. Louis. Those locations are so
central (the geographic center of the US is ~50 miles SW of STL) that it's easy
for most people (in North America) to travel there.
But I guess the largest consideration is someone local to be the driving
force that makes it happen.

| Well, now that I have some time to settle down and think a while, I thought I'd make my report on BricksWest. TRAVEL ------ Overall, I had a good travel experience but some things could have been better. I got decent tickets (about $200 round trip (...) (23 years ago, 23-Feb-02, to lugnet.events.brickswest)
