  Re: California LEGO Convention?

(...) I like the idea. Sure, southern California has LL-CA but it doesn't have that "in the middle" quality that northern California has. There are various LUGs & LTCs in the far south and far north of the western US but northern California has a (...) (16 years ago, 31-Jul-08, to lugnet.events)

  Re: Future of BrickFest?

Re: Worm gear... whence the length?

(...) Hi Brian, If you're struggling with worm gaps for your leadscrew, this pic of my crane worm gearbox might help: (URL) worm is two worms long, plus two pairs of old type (crennellated) half bushes (small pulleys) and an old type 14-tooth bevel (...)   Re: Worm gear... whence the length?

(...) That would make sense, but for the fact that the worm gear is ten years older than the gearbox that you cited. The only reason that the worm gear had to be made a tiny bit less than 2 studs long was so that when you put it between two TECHNIC (...)
