I don't know that this is concrete 'proof' that LEGO is educational (though
it certainly is), however you may want to check out this article by Fred G.
Martin (from MIT), entitled 'The Art of LEGO Design'. Fred was kind enough
to allow me to feature it on my website a few months ago.

It illustrates how LEGO can be used to create many simple machines and
mechanisms, and some of the fundamental techniques used in creating larger
more sophisticated models.

| The Art of LEGO Design is a great resource, but there also have been dozens of journal articles, memos, books, and conference proceedings written about the educational use of LEGO that might provide you with a more formalized view about the (...) (25 years ago, 7-Nov-99, to lugnet.edu)
