Another question.  In my recently acquired Duplo grab bag there were some
REALLY big house or building pieces: walls 1x11x6, with pocket doors that
click open and shut, and roof pieces 1x11x4.  Yellow with red roofs and
brown doors.  There were old-style (square-cornered) farm animals and a
windmill as well, so I think it may be a farm.  I put pictures on Brickshelf
but it's down at the moment so I can't supply the URL.  (They're in
http://www.brickshelf/gallery/hpatey/Duplo/ when it comes back.)

Now, what on earth are they from?

Wow, I can't see your photos yet, but you might have some of this:
http://guide.lugnet.com/set/2770   (a jammin' set IMHO)

Maybe some of this?

I think it has to be more than one set, from your description.

I think you're right about set 2770.  I have a mostly complete one with no
box-- found out what it was when Jason Briscoe put one up on eBay last year.
He may know something about the set.
