Re: Reasons for the color change

(...) I think the color change was made because TLC tries to cut production costs. Probably they now use recycled plastic to produce the bricks. They just didn't manage to reach the same color again within a reasonable effort. Grey is the most (...) (20 years ago, 7-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

Universal Colors - how about NO MORE CHANGES ?!?

Hi all, especially Jake, Jake, first let me say thanks for all the hard work you've put into communicating between AFOLs and TLC. And I'm sorry some of the folks here have treated you so rudely. Now, I have a suggestion about this "universal color" (...) (20 years ago, 7-May-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Dear LEGO...

Have to agree with getting more Pick a brick stores, you have one in Windsor, down in the south of england, there should be one up north, say Manchester, so i can get the bits i need without resorting to bricklink :D (20 years ago, 30-Apr-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.ca, lugnet.loc.ca.on.ott, lugnet.org.ca.parlugment, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Dear LEGO...

(cross-posting to Dear-LEGO) Jake, ...or whichever other LEGO representative that might be reading this... Why has Canada been left out of all these LEGO store openings?!?! Not to ignore other countries, but Canada actually had a LEGO S@H until a (...)   Re: World City Fire idea

Neat Ideas... I thought the (URL) was a bit weak on its own. It was a nice set, but didn't have any companions sets, really to increase the fun. I thought the (URL) station itself had some good concepts, but still had some negative attributes (like (...) (20 years ago, 14-Apr-04, to lugnet.town, lugnet.dear-lego, FTX)

  Re: World City Fire idea

(...) I think this is a great idea! The airport-style trucks are well worth exploring as inspiration for sets. (...) Interesting idea. Might make for a nice play set, but with the possibility of some realism too. All the best, Allan B. (...) (20 years ago, 14-Apr-04, to lugnet.town, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: World City Fire idea

How about an Airport Firestation? You could have the airport firetrucks, training area (old aircraft the set fire to) etc. This could nicely tie the theme in to a future new airport range. Richard.   Re: World City Fire idea

(...) I like the way the Police sets were done. You got a SUV (and a nifty "armored car") with the building. I thought the building itself was a bit simplistic, but had great parts. I really enjoyed seeing Classic 1920's era version of Fire Halls (...) (20 years ago, 14-Apr-04, to lugnet.town, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: World City Fire idea

(...) I'd imagine they'd try to keep in line with the current look of the World City sets (Police, Train Etc.) I'd like to see the return of dark gray ladders (new dark grey is fine with me) and red or silver wheel hubs. The return of the black fire (...)   World City Fire idea

If LEGO was to produce a World City Fire line, what would you like to see? Keeping in mind the constraints LEGO would be enforcing on the sets... (20 years ago, 14-Apr-04, to lugnet.town, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: New Casle Sets

(...) I completely agree with your son, the new Castle sets look awful!!! Ok, apart from the new helmets (which might be OK) these sets look like they were designed by an idiot. There's certainly a case here to be made against the over (...) (20 years ago, 12-Apr-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.dear-lego)

  New Casle Sets

My 8 year old was building castles this afternoon with a friend. Later he came up to his computer and logged onto the Lego Website and sawthe new "castle"figures. He was less than thrilled. He has built Bionicles and Bionicle like things (though the (...) (20 years ago, 6-Apr-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Gray Tub

(...) The killer item would be pitchforks. Two pitchforks in every tub and it would sellout in hours ;) Ray (20 years ago, 1-Apr-04, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

  Re: Gray Tub

Dear Lego, This tub would sell. Add some trees, a few horses and maybe a peasant figure or two - with pitchforks. Be sure to enclose an Idea Book with 20+ pages of castle building inspiration and you would have a winning product. And to save (...) (20 years ago, 1-Apr-04, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

Re: most wanted parts that dont exist?

Something I want is a part thats like the 1 x 2 hinge with fingers on the long side except with 2 fingers instead of 3. (21 years ago, 27-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: most wanted parts that dont exist?

(...) Yeah, that would be great! You could also combine it with a 1x2 plate to make an upside-down jumper, roughly. Hmmm, I'm not sure what colors I'd most like to see in existing shapes. It varies, depending on what project I'm working on. But here (...) (21 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: 8480 "Intergalactic Traveling Spaceship"

(...) Yeah, submissions of pics of official LEGO sets as "your own creation" is pretty bad. What's worse is I've also seen some pictures of MegaBloks models printed in the LEGO Mania magazine!! BAD!!! -Bryan (21 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  8480 "Intergalactic Traveling Spaceship"

The March issue of Lego Magazine just arrived in mail. In "Out of this World Building Challenge Winners", one 11-year-old kid wins with a "Intergalactic Traveling Spaceship" -- which looks to me just a 8480 with mini-figs sitting around the cockpit.   Lego Library

I work in a university library (and I used to work in a public library) and I have always wondered how the library concept could be integrated with the Lego play concept. I think there is an opportunity with the Designer series of sets. If Lego (...) (21 years ago, 22-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)
