 Dear LEGO / 4672 (-20)
  World City Fire idea

If LEGO was to produce a World City Fire line, what would you like to see? Keeping in mind the constraints LEGO would be enforcing on the sets... (20 years ago, 14-Apr-04, to lugnet.town, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: New Casle Sets

(...) I completely agree with your son, the new Castle sets look awful!!! Ok, apart from the new helmets (which might be OK) these sets look like they were designed by an idiot. There's certainly a case here to be made against the over (...) (20 years ago, 12-Apr-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.dear-lego)

  New Casle Sets

My 8 year old was building castles this afternoon with a friend. Later he came up to his computer and logged onto the Lego Website and sawthe new "castle"figures. He was less than thrilled. He has built Bionicles and Bionicle like things (though the (...) (20 years ago, 6-Apr-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Gray Tub

(...) The killer item would be pitchforks. Two pitchforks in every tub and it would sellout in hours ;) Ray (20 years ago, 1-Apr-04, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

  Re: Gray Tub

Dear Lego, This tub would sell. Add some trees, a few horses and maybe a peasant figure or two - with pitchforks. Be sure to enclose an Idea Book with 20+ pages of castle building inspiration and you would have a winning product. And to save (...) (20 years ago, 1-Apr-04, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

Re: most wanted parts that dont exist?

Something I want is a part thats like the 1 x 2 hinge with fingers on the long side except with 2 fingers instead of 3. (21 years ago, 27-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: most wanted parts that dont exist?

(...) Yeah, that would be great! You could also combine it with a 1x2 plate to make an upside-down jumper, roughly. Hmmm, I'm not sure what colors I'd most like to see in existing shapes. It varies, depending on what project I'm working on. But here (...) (21 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: 8480 "Intergalactic Traveling Spaceship"

(...) Yeah, submissions of pics of official LEGO sets as "your own creation" is pretty bad. What's worse is I've also seen some pictures of MegaBloks models printed in the LEGO Mania magazine!! BAD!!! -Bryan (21 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  8480 "Intergalactic Traveling Spaceship"

The March issue of Lego Magazine just arrived in mail. In "Out of this World Building Challenge Winners", one 11-year-old kid wins with a "Intergalactic Traveling Spaceship" -- which looks to me just a 8480 with mini-figs sitting around the cockpit. (...) (21 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.technic)

  Lego Library

I work in a university library (and I used to work in a public library) and I have always wondered how the library concept could be integrated with the Lego play concept. I think there is an opportunity with the Designer series of sets. If Lego (...) (21 years ago, 22-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: most wanted parts that dont exist?

It's impossible for me to limit it to just 5! I have about two or three notebook pages dedicated to this very thing. So, with my apologies, here's some highlights from my longish wish list... Current elements that exist, just not in these colors: (...) (21 years ago, 22-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego, FTX)

  Future Trends, Past Mistakes,

After reading about continued losses and seeing various moves to improve market share and such, I offer a few of my own humble observations. My own kids love Legos, I teach various classes at elementary schools using Legos (Simple Machines and (...) (21 years ago, 19-Mar-04, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Why the early end to 10040 Black Seas Barracuda?

(...) I'll follow up my own post and also express my amazement that 10000 Guarded Inn and 10039 Black Falcon's Fortress sold out sometime in the last couple of days. At least the Guarded Inn re-release has been out for a bit longer. I suppose this (...) (21 years ago, 18-Mar-04, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.castle)

Re: Why the early end to 10040 Black Seas Barracuda?

(...) Actually, I suspect that a product that *is* selling would have a shorter availability. My understanding (from reading the press release about how well Hogwarts Castle did) is that it is unusual for sets to go through multiple production runs. (...)   Re: Why the early end to 10040 Black Seas Barracuda?

(...) That rather sums it up nicely. Were the reasons for the color change so compelling so as to elliminate the posibility of making future Legends sets which truly represented the original ? Personally I'm still waiting to see/hear reasons that (...) (21 years ago, 17-Mar-04, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.pirates)

Re: Why the early end to 10040 Black Seas Barracuda?

(...) I must disagree with the opinion that it isn't selling. I was planning to buy another copy myself near the end of last year, when suddenly one day it said "sold out." So I emailed lego direct asking whether it would come back and they said no, (...) (21 years ago, 17-Mar-04, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.pirates)

Re: Why the early end to 10040 Black Seas Barracuda?

(...) At least for the store I work in, that would be false. We have a waiting list of about 30 people for the Barracuda, and only rumors whether it is on order or discontinued. -Tim (21 years ago, 16-Mar-04, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.pirates)

Re: Why the early end to 10040 Black Seas Barracuda?

(...) Oh, that'll be fun. (21 years ago, 16-Mar-04, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.pirates)

Re: Why the early end to 10040 Black Seas Barracuda?

(...) I would guess the main reason would be it isn't selling! No matter how desired a product once was, eventually the sales peter out (Hogwarts Castle for historical reference). Add to that the color change, they would have to produce all of the (...) (21 years ago, 16-Mar-04, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.pirates)
