I got my set of 5 waggons on friday (for the 5-waggons-discount-price). I
built them over the weekend and I am really happy with design and
quality of the bricks. I was amazed about the metallic corrugated bricks: they
look quite similar in comparison to normal grey and fit perfectly into the
waggons.

I could not test it, but at 1000steine there have been complaints about that.
Recently some (ca 25%) of the 9V wheelsets are not perfectly running (as they
did in the early nineties).
Wheel sets can be good enough to form even a train of 126 waggon (all from
2126 and all pulled by front engine only). I am 100% sure you will not be able
to do a similar train with 100xx cars.... But I heard from some people who
called the consumer service at Lego, that TLC is aware of that problem and
works on it.

Some of the instructions have some very obvious bitmap stairs. But I do not
mind that. The box design is really great: I wonder if this will never be sold
in normal retail stores? For online-only purpose the box is by far too good
and sturdy... (I throw boxes away, so I myself could live with unsturdy white
boxes as well.)

In the dining car a part of the bar is build completely out of 1x1x1 bricks.
But I think this is just the strong side of this concept: making up a brick
collection that is most helpful for many alternative models.

I did the same, after I made it first in the suggested way (and took the
pictures of the spares)....

Would be fine, but I am happy there are none of them in the sets: I own
hundreds of them in any shape (in fact it might be thousands?).
I think nobody starts with a Santa Fe into the rain hobby. And if so, I would
suggest to buy the 4561 train set for track, transformer, light + minifigs....

Could not agree more. Thanks a lot! (especially if I remember 'our' (or was it
only me?) fear of a discontinued train theme 2 years ago.)

| (...) I tested it this weekend. With just 1 motor (the one that came with the 10020) it was slow and slipped a lot. When I replaced the dummy/motorless 10020 with the motorized part of the Metroliner (original 9T's one) It ran smooth and fast. A bit (...) (22 years ago, 9-Sep-02, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.dear-lego)
