You're right, Dave, that is too bad.
OTOH, soccer is not a big sport in the US, and women's soccer is even less
important (in regards to the popularity) than men's. Since the WWC1999 is
in the US, not Europe, TLG wouldn't sell as many sets in Europe. Would
they be able to sell enough in the US to make up the difference? Maybe,
maybe not.
Of course, if they put more-accurate uniforms on the minifigs (especially
shorts printed on the leg-pieces!), that would be very original and keen
and useful in MOC Town.
