 Dear LEGO / 3377 (-20)
Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*...

(...) That sounds like an idea for a castle starter package, which I would be interested in (being that I have no castle sets, and some would be nice) (23 years ago, 14-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*...

(...) YEs, the big difference between computer games and Lego is that Lego you can see and touch. It also tends to be more versitile because with Lego you can do anything and Sim City you can do only almost anything. (23 years ago, 14-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*...

(...) Then there's the poor little kids who have jsut started building lego who get these cheap sets and when they get tired of them they go in the closet like any other toy, accept they fall apart. One reason for Lego's success is the (...) (23 years ago, 13-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*...

(...) They actually look at Lugnet daily and steal ideas (at least I think). People mention stuff and BOOM sometimes it comes out. (...) Yes, an important part of Lego (in my opinion) is taking time. Makes you feel proud of something when your (...) (23 years ago, 13-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*...

Just as a note to why I (the author of this few pages of rage fueled text) dissappeared for a few days is that my computer was very unstable and my dad and had to rebuild it (which we've done successfuly) and add a new hard drive. I'll try to at (...) (23 years ago, 13-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*...

(...) Uhg, now I'm depressed :-) But, no, really, I do like that polce HQ. It's got a similar feel to the buildings I make today. I *really* wish I had some of those older sets. (...) Sounds good, probally is true. (...) I saw these in the store the (...) (23 years ago, 13-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*...

(...) more (...) The thing is that 6091 is 524 BIG JUNIORISED pieces (OK not all of them, but quite a few - grrr..), I assume bigger pieces cost lego more to produce (printed pieces probably do as well)... Which is why they should bring castle sets (...) (23 years ago, 13-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*...

(...) Agreed. And I would argue that the sets that LD has brought out so far under their aegis are hitting this mark quite well. LD gets it. LD knows what we want and LD is delivering. I've said it before and I'll no doubt (to the annoyance of those (...) (23 years ago, 13-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*...

(...) Just my two cents. I bought the green dragon. I found the set to be challenging, and a well designed set. Granted it is a little too cute for me, but still a nice design. On top of that, once you take it apart you have tons (tonnes) of green (...) (23 years ago, 13-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*...

(...) OK. I'll defend the Camel as a good, even great, model, though. It isn't minifig scale but neither are other model team sets. It's a bit bigger scale than model team but it is along the same lines. I found it to be a very enjoyable build. (...) (23 years ago, 12-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*...

(...) I guess that's true but I thought we were talking about instances where the TLG model was good. If we're talking about as a set of parts, then yes. (23 years ago, 12-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*...

(...) I think that Lego have got themselves into a viscious circle. For some reason they realeased Juniorised sets, these sets didn't sell as well as they hoped. So to make up for losses they've diluted their product range and created these sets (...) (23 years ago, 12-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*...

(...) The minifig isn't THAT useful but the other three you name are veritable treasure troves of parts. Sopwith Camel especially looks like someone who knows what sort of parts I like designed it to be a great parts source to fill in the gaps in my (...) (...) Gee, I am no math wiz, but here goes: #3450 Statue of Liberty 2800 pcs. @ $199 USD = $0.07 USD an element #3451 Sopwith Camel 577 pcs. @ $49.99 USD = $0.09 USD an element #3724 Lego Dragon 1530 pcs. @ $99 USD = $0.06 USD an element #7127 (...) (...) Ah, but they can be used for SOOOO much more than that. Cool looking caps are just the beginning. This function does vary from mask to mask, though. (...) I've got no argument there.   Re: This is stupid... I can't tolerate this *juniorization*...

(...) Not true. I don't like Star Wars, and none of the sculptures are of any use to me. What can i do with a giant minifig or dragon or sopwith camel? Maybe if the dragon was menacing I could pass it off as some monument in a medieval town, or if (...) (23 years ago, 12-Aug-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.dear-lego)
