Re: A Parental Perspective on Juniorisation and Being the Strongest Brand

(...) Hi, Deidre, My comments are perhaps among those you have read. Just to update a bit, my son Spencer is now 4 1/2. We still own no Juniorized sets. The Duplo is still out, but the Primo no longer gets any use. Regular System parts are the norm. (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.au)

Error 404- File not Found! The text you gave me is really strangely worded, sonds like they are really trying to make it clear that this stuff is for boys. What is stop-gap, and is it an official catalogue or not? (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.au)

RE: A Parental Perspective on Juniorisation and Being the Stronge st Brand

The catalogue was an Australian stop-gap catalogue [hence no official lego number, just a (C) lego message] to let parents and kids know there were more new sets on the way before the true second catalogue of the year is released. I've put a link to (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.au)

(...) Teaser = fake? Sorry, I don't understand. I haven't gotten a catalogue since late January. What sets were claimed to be just for boys? (24 years ago, 14-Jul-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.au)

RE: A Parental Perspective on Juniorisation and Being the Stronge st Brand

(...) Remember the sexist teaser catalogue released around 1 month ago? It made a few claims about sets being for boys, and not children...Makes it hard for them to sell these to girls, when they could probably read what was written there [well, at (...)   Re: A Parental Perspective on Juniorisation and Being the Strongest Brand

(...) Unfortunately the consumers don't see it that way. I have lost count of the number of times I've been standing in the Lego aisle and some parent or child says "oh... lego... that's for boys" and passes on. On average (and this says nothing (...)   Re: A Parental Perspective on Juniorisation and Being the Strongest Brand

(...) I agree with you, but I think most parents who are ignorant of the benefits of Lego will simply buy the Hasbro set, since it is bigger (and the American attitude of bigger = better). It's up to all us AFOLs to let the people know! ;^) ~Mark (24 years ago, 13-Jul-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general, lugnet.loc.it)

"Jeff Johnston" <sakura@mediaone.net> wrote in message news:FxnIvM.5An@lugnet.com... [snipped a little] (...) Maybe it's local or maybe Europe has a longer LEGO tradition, but here in the Netherlands I feel that 'LEGO' is concidered the best (...)
