I'm not going to quote it because I agree with it in total. I'd like to add some related thoughts that have been nagging at me ever since I first encountered Brick{Bay,Link} and LDraw... I like the idea of better indexing, and would be happy to incorporate any new method into peeron - now someone just has to write it :) I know that indexing by a non-unique field (which is the part number) is a bad thing - it's just the easiest and (...) Currently, there are three active major part databases out there: Partsref, Peeron Inventories, and the BrickLink Catalog. Anyone can use this inventory. It's not completely Peeron-compliant yet, but someone remind me and I'll fix it. Many of the part names are from BrickLink (which explains weird stuff like "Bionicle . . ." rather than "Technic Bionicle. . ."), and I (...) (23 years ago, 6-May-02, to lugnet.db.inv)
