New Lego Soft (only in Dacta) —Steve Martin
Has anyone checked out these new soft foam bricks? You can see them at: (URL) wild. And _very_ expensive. $2 - $3 per brick. Steve (24 years ago, 20-Jul-00, to lugnet.dacta, lugnet.general)

Re: New Lego Soft (only in Dacta) —Eric Kingsley
(...) I actually got to see them and hold them the day they came into the store at The Construction Site (Just fortunate I guess). They are expensive but they are also very cool. They are soft and made out of foam/rubber material (hard to explain). (...) (24 years ago, 20-Jul-00, to lugnet.dacta, lugnet.general)

(...) Foam/rubber is the best description I can think of. Legoland California has a bunch that they sometimes have out for kids - and me ;) - to play with. (...) Well, that's not entirely true. They definitely don't click, becuase they're made out (...) (24 years ago, 20-Jul-00, to lugnet.dacta, lugnet.general)

Re: New Lego Soft (only in Dacta) —Larry Pieniazek
(...) I suspect you have to go foam-primo-duplo-system which adds a few layers. Wait! CAN you plug a primo into the bottom of a duplo? I don't think so, I think you can only go the other way, And I suspect the tubes may be too big to plug into the (...) (24 years ago, 20-Jul-00, to lugnet.dacta, lugnet.general)

Re: New Lego Soft (only in Dacta) —Jude Beaudin
(...) <snip> Actually you can, there are certain primo blocks with duplo studs on the top. Jude My niece is gonna love these. But that's gonna be a BIG $$$ gift. Maybe Christmas?!? (24 years ago, 20-Jul-00, to lugnet.dacta, lugnet.general)

(...) than (...) And? :-) Start with a 2x2 System brick. A Duplo 2x2 brick is 8 times bigger (volumetrically) than System and a Primo 2x2 is 8 times bigger than the Duplo, right? Or is it that a Primo 1x1 is 8 times bigger than the Duplo 2x2. I (...) (24 years ago, 20-Jul-00, to lugnet.dacta, lugnet.general)

(...) Just that Lego doesn't in general attach any huge significance to powers of two. (24 years ago, 20-Jul-00, to lugnet.dacta, lugnet.general)

(...) The idea of making some life sized furniture from them springs to mind. Wonder if the interlinking would be strong enough to hold a nice comfy lounge seat together when I sit in it? regards lawrence (24 years ago, 20-Jul-00, to lugnet.dacta, lugnet.general)

Re: New Lego Soft (only in Dacta) —Timothy Jones
(...) No, I hadn't seen them yet. They look kind of cool, but who's going to spend $90+ just so their kids can play with them? (24 years ago, 20-Jul-00, to lugnet.dacta, lugnet.general)

(...) David - Where were these at the park? If they were in Brick By Brick, I missed them there. The only place I saw them was somewhere only staff could go, certainly _not_ open to the public.       (...) I would say it was exactly half way between the model shop (where the LDRAW and Trains display was) and the park entrance. Maybe because they don't make that many of them, like plain old supply and demand, since they'd only make maybe like 10,000 a year, they're probably so much to offset the cost of all the new machinery they need.
