Hello all, I have for you a new story.  It's only slightly delayed from it's
planned mid-July release date, but I think it turned out really well.  So • here
it is, Siege of Valkayria:

Awesome story!  I love how you work in the photography along with the
buildings and the computer editing!

So ... here are some individual things that struck me:

1st shot - very effective and sets the mood well.  I like the cloud effect
and the bird's-eye-view.
2nd shot - flying airship - very cool ... what did you use to edit the
grahpics?

Hmmm, let's see.  I use Photoshop and put the ship on the clouds and then I
airbrushed some other clouds in front of it.

Last shot on page 1 - very good use of focus/unfocus.  I'm assuming you are
using a digi-cam here, right ... ?

Right.  A Sony Digital Mavica FD88.

The Battle:

Gore - I'm a big fan of it and you bring it ;)

Yeah, I could see that in some of you're stories :)
When I had the castle displayed at our state fair, there were a few comments
from passerbys about the amount of gore in it.

Magic - Simply awesome!
The shot of the guy stabbing the forestman is very effective, and I like how
you just have plenty of pictures and not too much text.  Hey - it's a
battle, and with so many things happening, who needs color commentary? ;)  I
also like how you flash back with Locke at the very end.  When Locke
falls, the use of focus and unfocused surroundings really adds to the height
look of it.  I'm starting to really get a feel for Vincent here, and Locke
reminds me of Verneer in some ways :)  ... is that a compliment or an insult
here?  Twins separated at birth?  <grin>

Possibly. . .they do look very familiar.  I don't really know if that's a
compliment or an insult.  As I'm shaping Locke, I might be subconsiously
telling myself to make him like Verneer, ya never know :)

First two shots on the next page with Locke hanging over the edge are very,
very well done.  Great mood, great photography.

what a shot!  Such a triumphant enterance!

I really liked this one also.  I put some extra time and effort into it to
make it look believeable, and I think it came out really well.

The final shot is also amazing!  Very appropriate!  I spent a while just
getting some more info on your characters and structures.  So what's next on
your agenda if I may ask?

Well, I have to write the Epilogue for this story (which shouldn't be too
long) and then I can continue on with my other "chapters" following Quest for
the Crystals.  I've got a lot planned for my castle stories, I should probably
start writing some of it down.

To sum it up - you get my vote for CWSOTW :)

Thanks Pawel!
