You could just recreate your own tudor-style houses using bricks and plates.
Many of us have built some impressive tudor-style buildings doing just that.
The only drawback is, of course; you will need a lot more pieces.
I was once at a stage you were at, attempting to get at least *6* of those
yellow/black walls to make a neat little hut. After finding out that they
were somewhat scarce, I decided just to play around with my own design
(along with the Silases, Daniel Siskinds, Kim Tolls, Eric Kingsleys, and
whomever else I've neglected from the LEGO community).
Also, by creating your own design, you can now have different colored houses
instead of just red/black and yellow/black. Of course, historically; they
probably didn't have a green/black house, but it makes for a more colorful
village.
I'm sure folks would be more than happy to provide picture references if you
wanted to get some ideas.
