Centaurs, Satires, Minotaur and the like...

Hi, Anyone ever try to make one of these - Centaur, Stire, Minotaur, Sphinx, or other half-man, half-creature type of thing? Other than Tim Coats, I haven't seen any of these mythical creatures. My first thought, after "Hmm, Centaur..." was, 'Oh, no (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Centaurs, Satires, Minotaur and the like...

(...) I have already made a centaur (based on the classic castle horse) and sent a picture to Pawel. Hopefully he will have it online soon. I also sent an insect man and a arachnis (drider) which looks very cool. I am still thinking about some other (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Centaurs, Satires, Minotaur and the like...

(...) Off the top of my head (for a centaur), a Yellow-Castle-era horse with a minifig head and chest. He should probably also have a bow and quiver. Maybe put the quiver on his back so you can put Qui-Gon Jinn's hair on his head for a mane. For a (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

(...) up (...) Cool! Pawel is probably hard at work on the map now but no doubt he's working on it... Can you email me a pic or two? -Shiri (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Centaurs, Satires, Minotaur and the like...

(...) You could build a horse as in the Yellow Castle set, and replace the head with a minifig torso. --Bram Bram Lambrecht / o o \ BramL@juno.com ---...---oooo-----(_...o---...--- WWW: (URL) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Centaurs, Satires, Minotaur and the like...

(...) This is easily solved using a 1x2 brick with side holes (the kind which is used to hold "digger-bucket" arms. (See "Alien Pet" in lugnet.cad.dat.ideas) --Bram Bram Lambrecht / o o \ BramL@juno.com ---...---oooo-----(_...o---...--- WWW: (URL) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Centaurs, Satires, Minotaur and the like...

(...) Great idea! I was thinking brick-built horses too, so I can copy the YC horse... (...) No, it doesn't! Recall Alan's idea about the digger-bricks with holes of arms! (or read it here: (URL) ) You can use that brick and then attach hands and a (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Centaurs, Satires, Minotaur and the like...

(...) For a minotaur, I'd use a 1x2 medium slope on the minifig body, with a clip up top holding the horns. You might even go to a 1x3 slope for the head. J (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Centaurs, Satyrs, Minotaur and the like...

(...) Oh!! Now I get it... I saw this pic a long time ago but didn't realize it was the mythical satyr... I thought she was referring to a satire on Peter Pan... D'oh! My spelling wasn't (and still isn't) the best ;-) Note the change in the subject (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Centaurs, Satires, Minotaur and the like...

(...) I too have made a centaur based on the classic castle horse (with some design modifications to the horses body). Pawel has asked me to send him a photo so I need to take some pictures this weekend to send to him. I look forward to seeing yours (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Centaurs, Satyrs, Minotaur and the like...

At the inaugural DixieLUG meeting, I had a Satyr, using Suzanne's basic design, but with a JarJar torso with yellow arms, and a Fright Knight soldier's head (the same one that Pawel uses for Verneer, IIRC), a 1x1 tile w/ clip, and a cattlehorn. I (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

Wild Boar, Turkey, walrus and more

Last night I made a couple of animals inspired by Franklin Cain's animal designs. Using his pig, I made a cool wild boar and using the chicken and goose as models I created a turkey. I also made a big black walrus (though is looks a little more like (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)

Perhaps you could also make a Minotaur using a minifig body and a Fabuland head. :) -- Paul Davidson, aka Tinman www.theforce.net | Your Daily Dose of Star Wars www.filmforce.net | Your Daily Dose of Film News Shiri <shirid@hotmail.com> wrote in (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.castle)
