Hm. Is there anything stopping them from
doing a 6080 re-release?

Nothing more than sales expectations, but that is of
course the main issue. It's pretty square-looking, takes
a lot of patience to build and leaves a lot to the
imagination. Patience and imagination are two qualities
of which there seems to be much less around these days,
so it probably wouldn't have much of an appeal to modern
kids. A relatively small number of adult enthusiasts is
probably not enough to motivate a product release, no
matter how much we would like to se a re-release of
375/6075 or other sets that are legends to us.

The "legends" series was never very popular, was it?
(And by "popular", I mean having appeal to a broader
audience and generating sales, not just being liked by
crazy people like us.)

I'm very happy they re-released the Guarded Inn, and
the truly wonderful and unique Blacksmith's Shop, but
I have stopped hoping for TLG to do more of that sort.

(...) Yeah, it's like they took 6090 and 6091/6098 and built some kind of combo castle with them. Comparing them is like saying that 6062 is a re-release of 6061. Same general idea, same general design, but made to be prettier and be more (...) (18 years ago, 30-Jun-06, to lugnet.castle, FTX)
