Hi Pawel!

My last post got deleted, so I'm going to try to restate anything that was
missed and add on a few things:

1)  The Map

The map will be a 4x4 grid for starters (european style) and a 2x1 grid for
the oriental style (since that's how I see the breakdown right now ...)  The
two will not be connected, but upon exploration, may end up becoming one.

What do you mean by 4x4 grid for starters? 4x4 grid of what? Studs? Or will
you divide the map into 16 parts?

A preview of the world map can be seen here:

Like it!

Here is how this will work:

Each individual square will provide a general overview with black dots
representing structures.

How about an "alt" that says the land's name + short description? (by alt I
mean that tool-tips that show up if you stay with your mouse over something
for a long time. Hope that's clear enough ;-)

Upon zooming, the next map reveals the names of the creations in that square
as well as red dots for characters (uniques - more on that below).

Yeah, I think zooming is a great way to show creations.

The third and last zoom (not in place yet) will reveal small images of the
creation with the name and link to that creations page (again - more on that
later).

Will the last zooms work by clicking on the name of the creation?

Seeing as everything will begin in the year 0 A.L., if someone wants to
begin work on a UNDISCOVERED civilization, a portion of the undiscovered map
can be shown to him or her for them to begin work.  (I hope that makes
sense).  Just as history is being written, so will the discovery of the lands.

I'm not sure I got that. Do you mean like an empty space on the map, and only
the user will see what it really looks like?

Also, if you discover something, you will be free to name it as you see fit
(which goes along with your land - like Bricktania would make an excellent
name for a whole area ...)

How do you discover something? Do you send some troops there, or an explorer?
(a great opportunity for another character ;-)

2)  The menu.

The menu is still preliminary, but will contain the following (suggestions
welcome here):

1)  The Map - will take you to the map menu.
2)  Structures - buildings or such submitted by people.  Each will have it's
own page with a little history and the creator.
3)  Characters - unique people or things with a little background and
personality.  A system for indexing those will fall into place.  The creator
will also be here.  More on that later.
4)  Demons or creatures - non-unique original creations (wraiths, animals,
etc...)
5)  History - the recorded events.
6)  Members - participants, storytellers, and creators.
7)  Links - miscelanous pages (since this is an index of castle sites as
well - hopefully as complete of an index as there has been).

How's about on the creations/charcters/creatures pages there will only be a
link to the member's page. On his page, a member can have links to all the
stuff he/she submitted, plus links to his/her homepage, and they can tell
something about themselves, put pictures, etc. So that actually one could have
a homepage or use Castle World as their homepage.

How would we record history? This is the most interesting thing to me, but how
will we make it work?
I'd like to see a timeline, maybe every earth week will be a castle month/year?
Then, if someone posted their creation on the second week after loading the
site, we can say "year 2 A.L. (1): <name of creation> was built, in <the
location>. Submitted by <creator>."

All of this said and done, I think the next update I will post (after
hearing suggestions about the setup and fielding any questions) will have
concrete examples of everything.

Great! If there's anything I can do to help, LMK!
