Matt,

Look again, behind the sword on the top floor:

And behind the croissants on the second floor:

Either that's wasted space back there or it's a stairwell.  I can't imagine
with that much detail that he would leave it out.

It truly is a beautiful building!  I'd love to see a whole town of these
types of buildings.....

Anyway, back to Oshiki Shinji.  I love his three-fold
design, where the building hinges open in a couple of
different ways to give full access to the interior.
Lots of awesome little details like the oven, the
bed, the window for selling loaves, full access to
the upstairs, etc.

Alright! I was definitely anticipating to
see some more village creations, but those
seem to be few and far between...and what
better to see one build using the Tudor
style!

And for the aesthetics, I especially
have a liking for the interior detail,
albeit a stairwell for the second
level is missing. (The inclusion of
one would warrant reworking the
structure, but it looks great
nonetheless.) The slopes attribute
a stately look to the structure, and
the use of windows and doors is
perfectly placed.

The only part that didn't seem to fit
was the white arch, since it gives
far too much contrast when placed
near yellow and black. (Lego should
seriously consider making that piece
in brown.)

But regardless, Onishi definitely
desreves credit for an excellent
model. I'm looking forward to his
next piece.

Thanks, Bruce, for bringing this to
my attention.

(...) Sheesh... You have to admit, it doesn't stand out very well. From the pictures, it looked somewhat like a storage area. Perhaps if he used 1x4x2 spindled fences as railings I would have caught that. <<_Matt Hein_>> Fellow lego enthusiast O s p (...) (22 years ago, 22-Mar-03, to lugnet.castle)
