| In case people missed this since it was announced to .contests only... This may well be the most ambitious (and richest, broadest, and potentially the funnest) contest ever staged in the LEGO world that wasn't put on by LEGO itself (and it surely (...) If Lego is going to continue in its current strategy of securing licensing rights, why they did not secure the rights to use the Lord of the Rings characters is a good question. | (...) Sounds like each character will have small speakers etc in them so that they can talk and have "battle sounds" etc. Perhaps the 2x4 base is for a battery/mechanism that they didn't want to redesign for each fig so that it would always fit... (...) (23 years ago, 15-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle)

| (...) In part, possibly. However, unlike Jar-Jar, a large part of Gollum is being based off of Andy Serkis (sp?). In addition to providing the voice, Andy is getting dressed up in a cybersuit and providing much of the base mechanical motions for (...) (23 years ago, 16-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle)
