Re: small people may change the course of the future....

I saw this earlier today while browsing Brickshelf and was awed. I particularly like the recessed cross-shaped windows. Too bad that LEGO doesn't make 48X48 baseplates in green. (20 years ago, 27-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Re: Fortified city gate

(...) Thanks. The doors are 1 brick and 1 plate thick. That one picture with the rocks on the transparent bars is suppossed to show how they could withstand flying boulders from catapults. The elephant crouching is one idea I also had for it to get (...) (20 years ago, 26-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: CCC Houses (and a skate ramp roof!)

(...) Heh. Now I want to redo it in brown for the gingerbread effect. Actually, when I finished building the red one, I was struck by how good it would look in a North Pole layout. Thanks. Marc Nelson Jr. (20 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: CCC Houses (and a skate ramp roof!)

Hi Marc, I like all three of these houses. The new roofs that you designed are great and very unique. The window design using headlight bricks is also very nice! Ben (20 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Re: Fortified city gate

Hi David, Your fortified gate is very impressive. I like the size and massing. The doors have an excellent thickness and look very stout. Perhaps the elephant crouched down to get out :) Ben (20 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Re: Propeller Box (windmill)

Hi David, I really like the filled in blades of the windmill. It is an interesting technique. The rest is a bit boxy. Like a sandcrawler with a windmill on it :) But it is really cool that it works. Ben (20 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Fortified city gate

This is a fortified city gate I made for the medieval layout at the Parent-Child Expo in Indianapolis. It sits on 2 baseplates, has a pair of large wooden doors in the middle, has a tower on each side and has a walkway above the gate that spans the (...)   Propeller Box (windmill)

This is a big brown windmill that I made. It turned out a whole lot boxier that I planned, and I didn't really like the overall look of it, so I call it the "propeller box". It made its public debut at the Parent-Child Expo in Indianapolis this past (...) (21 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.announce.moc, FTX)

Re: CCC Houses (and a skate ramp roof!)

(...) As well you should be, Marc. Add some transparent 1x1 round plates as gumdrops, and you're all set for a visit from Hansel and Gretl. -Teddy (21 years ago, 24-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

CCC Houses (and a skate ramp roof!)

Here are a few houses I built to the CCC standard: (3 URLs) I am particularly happy with the red one, which uses the skate ramp pieces for the roof. Pictures are at my (URL) LUGNET page> - please let me know what you think. Marc Nelson Jr. (21 years ago, 24-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Re: Market Hut

(...) Very nice. I like the dark orange as an accent color with the tan and brown. Marc Nelson Jr. (21 years ago, 24-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Re: Market Hut

Hey Dave, Simple but effective, the sort of building it would be easy to make several of very quickly to round out a village display. I like the use of iverse slopes rather than arches to give the window a peaked look. One critique--I don't really (...) (21 years ago, 24-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Market Hut

This is a market hut of a small village. It's a very simple building, structurally speaking. I've been itching to use my bulk packs of brown 4X2 slopes, and this is what I came up with. (URL) The roof is quite sturdy. You can press and beat on it (...) (21 years ago, 24-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.announce.moc, FTX) !

  Re: PaB Castle

(...) Okay, okay, really, we're all jealous already, you don't have to rub it in. Like who else here has free access to an entire PaB wall?!? Seriously, though, I like this. I do wish you'd done it in the greys, but red looks good too (I probably (...) (21 years ago, 24-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

  PaB Castle

I built this red and dark grey accented (URL) Castle> from mostly Pick-a-Brick parts. Some Make and Create parts complete this first attempt in yarns. (2 URLs) The Castle sits on 4 dark grey Duplo base plates. (2 URLs) The back is open for play. (2 (...) (21 years ago, 24-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Last Minute Additions

As I hurry to make final additions to Halcyon Castle before the big TexLUG meeting this weekend, I've built two more things to add to the display. (2 URLs) First, meet Kevin. He's my new Gong Farmer. His cart is simple, but useful. Then there's (...) (21 years ago, 23-Mar-04, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.general, FTX)
