  Re: MOC: Desert Landscape

Excellent work, René! Love the striped SNOT-sided tents at the oasis, and the two-barrel trough in image 17. It's great to see enough turbans to actually look like a group of Arabs. Here's hoping LEGO will come out with an Arabian line. It would (...) (22 years ago, 28-Jun-02, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: MOC: Desert Landscape

Hi René! (...) That would be nice, indeed! And ...hum... Playmobil already released an "Arabia" line 20 years ago..... Bye Jojo (22 years ago, 28-Jun-02, to lugnet.castle)

(...) avoid noting that this was a great MOC. It has great detail with few pieces, and at a scale that can nicely fit into a traditional collection. Earlier in this thread, William Braun suggested this would make a good theme. In fact Gary's model (...) (22 years ago, 27-Jun-02, to lugnet.castle)

(...) yours (...) Thanks Anthony! I agree the concept would have to be used in a bigger model to get any decent detail. Unfortunately this doodle was an afterthought (after I built most of my BrickSiege layout), and so I had limited pieces to work (...) (22 years ago, 27-Jun-02, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: MOC: Desert Landscape

I only have one problem with the castle and that is that it's gonna be awful hot with all those black walls.. Also I doubt there would be any materials in a desert area that would lend themselves to being black.. I know that's a small thing when we (...) (22 years ago, 27-Jun-02, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: MOC: Desert Landscape

Hi Lenny, (...) Well, I have 10 of them, but since I'm running the german auction site for new LEGO elements, it's very easy to get the parts I want for my creations. I wish there would be more different colours of the turbans, I hope TLC will (...) (22 years ago, 27-Jun-02, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: thatched roof

(...) For the 2x1's it looks like Harry Potter sets are the way to go. Here's Peeron's list. I've got the Final Challenge and that's a pretty cheap set, especially if you could get a bunch on clearance (maybe ask the guy who mae the desert scene. He (...)   Re: MOC: Desert Landscape

That thatched roof is really neat! I am going to have to try that. Where does a guy get all those tan slopes? Josh (22 years ago, 26-Jun-02, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Castle Adane and others

Hi Lenny, Thanks for replying to my post. The way you attach your roofs makes sense. I have been experimenting with technic connectors and with those sliding tongue and groove pieces. But yours sounds much simpler. I agree with your opinion of (...) (22 years ago, 26-Jun-02, to lugnet.castle)

  thatched roof

Hi all, The Desert Landscape MOC just posted here got me surfing around 1000steine.de, something I don't do enough. Anyway, I saw this, and I thought that roof really looked like it was thatched with straw, which might be useful in a medieval (...) (22 years ago, 26-Jun-02, to lugnet.castle)
