Cool design!  It certainly looks like the '59 Caddy.

Thanks!  I've begun using references more often--which usually results in
more detailed models.

What kind of texture did you use for the chrome pieces, BTW?  In my
opinion, it has a tad bit too much reflection.  I can't see that the
parts are silver, I only see the reflection of the environment in
them.

I used Anton Raves' chrome texture.  I know it's a bit too reflective,
but I was feeling kind of lazy...
It's hard to check how reflective chrome parts really are--especially in
a uniformly colored environment, which I can't find IRL :/

Also, did you try to add a (low key) sky sphere?  That would probably
make the reflections in the chrome parts a bit more lifelike.

Didn't even cross my mind.  How much would that do to make the
reflections more lifelike?

Please take this as constructive critisism only: Your images are very
nice!

Criticism is always welcome.  How else would I ever get any better?

(...) It's hard to say, but with a sky sphere, you will get reflections of a sky rather than a uniform colour in the chrome pieces. It might look better. Fredrik (25 years ago, 2-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Bram, Very nice work (as usual)! (...) Do you use Anton's parts library as well? I ask because of the smoothness of the minifigs' head...much smoother than the ones I've rendered using stock L3P output. Will Lego Beach Department of Emergency (...) (25 years ago, 2-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad.ray)
