I think that perhaps I'll try to actually model one of those classic trees
for ldraw.  It shouldn't be *too* hard...

I think it's only possible to produce a mock-up. The texture and curvature
of the trees (bushes) must be almost impossible (and not worth the trouble!)
to model in LDRAW.

In my view, it would be better to have the stand and stem as correct as
possible, and then just an outlined surface (with the holes), perhaps not
even having any thickness, where we can project scans of the Real Thing when
we do renderings.

Looking at the Real Thing, I'd say the Bush would be the simplest, and the
Apple/Chestnut? extremely difficult. Maybe a heigh-field editing program
could be used to produce all those triangles, and make it look acceptable,
but surely not worth the trouble...
