  Re: Muzzle flash in POV-Ray?

(...) I have two quickies: the quick way and the long way. (Note that both examples were written towards POVRay version 3.1g...) ... The quick way: Here's what I wrote for the green laser bolts in my wallpaper "Flight". (1) This creates a 8x8x600 (...) (22 years ago, 7-May-02, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: Muzzle flash in POV-Ray?

(...) Hey, that's pretty clever. I was thinking in too linear a fashion, looking for a way to do flames directly, rather than playing with what's already available. I'll play with it when I have the chance and let you know. Do you have any examples (...) (22 years ago, 7-May-02, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: Muzzle flash in POV-Ray?

(...) Distorted/cropped spheres filled with media make pretty good flames. Look up media in the POV-Ray documentation, and feel free to contact me directly if you have troubles. I'm no expert, but I've managed to get this to work a bit. -- Tony (...) (22 years ago, 7-May-02, to lugnet.cad.ray)

(Expert) help needed! Image_map on cylinder.

Hi, I am trying to place an image on a POV cylinder but it comes out distorted. Look at (URL) to see what I mean. I know the image is "projected" from the Z-axis, but is there a way it doesn't distort like it does now? Should I use a special (...) (22 years ago, 5-May-02, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: Short Animations

(...) Nope.. AutoCAD isn't very happy with Nonuniform scaling, so I've decided to learn myself MaxScript(internal 3ds max/viz language) and/or C++, and write the importer for 3ds max/viz instead. If I ever finish this project, it will ofcourse be (...) (22 years ago, 27-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: Short Animations

Trond Hasse Lie, First of all your animations are sweet! Does this mean you have finished your DAT import function for AutoCAD? If so I and I'm sure others would like to know more. To say that it would be difficult to make these animations with pov (...) (22 years ago, 27-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Short Animations

Hi. Just wanted to show a couple of anims. The first one is Jeremy H. Sproats' A66 (Spider Mecha) doing a little walk. ftp://ftp.lie.hn.org/a66.avi (410 KB) Converted to DXF, imported into 3ds max 4, completely set up with IK, and rendered with (...) (22 years ago, 26-Apr-02, to lugnet.cad.ray)
