Best hardware for MLCad? —Ben Vaughan
I'm looking to do some upgrading here at home (gotta love that tax return), and am interested what I can add/change to improve my MLCad performance. Is it strictly processor driven or can a beefier video card help out? With 256mb of RAM, I think (...) (25 years ago, 7-Jan-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

(...) i'm running a PIII 500 with 128M and a voodoo3 3000... *love* the performance i see from MLCad (and *love love love* the voodoo 3000 for Q3, unreal, etc)... running the VEC creation in LDAO is also a dream.. i used to start it and leave it for (...)    If it has 32 MB you should be OK... but OK or not OK turns on what you feel minimum performance is. CPU and memory will both help rendering performance, I suspect, as will the speed of the graphics card. note that I am guessing here. (...) (25 years ago, 31-Jan-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

(...) As I stated before, the computer is a 486 66MHz. It has 8MB of RAM. Barely enough to run Win95. As far as video and graphics cards, I don't have a clue anymore. I would like to think that I could use it for MLCad, otherwise it's probably (...) (25 years ago, 31-Jan-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

It will probably work but you will HATE it at that speed. (25 years ago, 1-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

(...) Ok here are the real minimum hardware requirements for MLCad (V1.7 Release 2): - Any computer running with Windows 95/98 or NT - Harddisk mainly depends on the operating system plus arround 100 MB (for dat files and swap-space) - Graphic card (...)
