This would be so great, but would slow down the software so much that it
might be unusable. At every single part movement step MLCad would have to
check to see if any parts had been touched or moved into and adjust the part
postion based on the outcome, and have to do it for all parts in the
vicinity. Plus curved parts could be a problem as they're not really curves
so positioning might be slightly off on wheels if you relied on getting them
to sit flat on a surface, for instance. The only way I could see it working
was if MLCad could keep track of the outer bounding box for every part and
use that as a guide for placement, but a lot of parts have bits sticking out
of them (eg. hinges) so the bounding box would not be the surface of the
LEGO. Plus on a large model that would take up a lot of additional RAM and I
can't afford to upgrade my laptop yet :)

This is a great idea - having to use the hand is a real pain, and often I
find I have to use the button to view the whole model, then use the hand to
move the area I'm interested in to the centre of the view pane, and then use
the zoom function or one of the buttons to zoom back in again. Scrollbars
would be so much neater and easier to use.

understand.
Michael has mentioned that he is working on the help before, but he's more
concerned with the functionality of the program than getting the help
perfect (I too suffer from this problem, I have written no documentation for
90% of the software I've written at the company I work at over the last 6
years because I spend too much time on modifying them to add new features
and can't see the point in having to spend time documenting it when I could
be writing more code!).

| This is to Mike, but I want to see how many other people would like this, too. 1. Disallow the nesting of parts within other parts.
