I would like to express my thanks to Chris and Tim for the nomination and
second. I have given serious consideration to accepting, and campaigning
vigorously. When I ran for reelection last year, it was on a platform
highlighting what the 2004 committee had accomplished, and promising that if
elected I'd make sure that the momentum was retained and that the important work
started in 2004 would be completed in 2005.
The community saw fit not to reelect me. It's my view that much of the momentum
was lost and much of the work remains uncompleted, but at this point, you could
say I don't have the desire or energy to give the community the effort it
deserves serving on the SteerCo, and choose to put my energy elsewhere.
So, I must regretfully decline the nomination, with heartfelt thanks. There are
a number of excellent candidates running and I give them, and the Ldraw
organization, my best wishes for success.
