  Re: File management

I have separate directories in which I store models. example: /models /mine /fire /space /others /Tim Courtney /Terry Keller /TLG /s1234 /s2345 This is basically how I do it. This is where I store all dats and mpds. hope that helps. Ryan (...) (24 years ago, 30-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad, lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Parts-authoring FAQ? (Was: Hacked my first part -- 4349 Town Loudhailer)

(...) ...and... (...) ...and... (...) Sounds like good fodder for a parts-authoring FAQ. Is there one? Other than Q24 in the LDraw FAQ (1), of course... Perhaps Q24 (and Q31 and the primitives reference (2)) should be broken out and re-organized as (...) (24 years ago, 29-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: File management

(...) If you've got the files stuffed into an MPD, there's no real need to keep separate copies of them. I do it anyway, but I'm weird. If a file is truly junk, I'll delete it. I move all my completed/inactive projects out of the Models directory, (...) (24 years ago, 29-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  File management

When making official models (and unofficial models for that matter), there are minifigs, submodels, and sub assemblies to deal with. You put them all together in one .mpd file, but then you also have these other files left in the \Models directory. (...) (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad, lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: September MOTM voting is ready

(...) Agreed. There are a lot of good ones. Your Welcome Tim - not a big deal once Jacob told me about that cgi script to "register" each entrant. That solved a lot of problems. :-) So thanks to Jacob Sparre Andersen for once again putting on his (...) (24 years ago, 26-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: September MOTM voting is ready

(...) Yup. VERY tough voting, I'll have to think about where to cast my vote for a long time. Great models this month! And a big thanks goes out to Terry who is filling in for me while I can't update the site for a few days. -Tim (24 years ago, 25-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

(...) [snip] (...) Didn't someone suggest using an anonymous proxy that might be located a few hops closer to ldraw.org? There's a list of proxy sites here: (URL) don't work. The proxy at webcache worked for me. YMMV... Or you could sample the free (...) (24 years ago, 22-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)
