One more step in my Macintosh LDraw compatibility campaign!

Sweet.  I guess I've kinda fallen off.  Incidentally, the last few
days I've been cleaning up my old files and I ran across the old LDMC
website (LDraw for the Mac Campaign).  Its been 5 years since I took
the site down!  A lot has changed in 5 years!

I had no idea there was once an actual LDraw for the Mac Campaign!
I don't think
I even knew about LDraw five years ago, so I was not aware of your
prior art in
this worthy crusade. I hereby recognize your senior status!

Well, I can't remember the name of the first guy who started it I
think back in 1999.  I promptly took it over and he disappeared from
the web.  Then Matt Gerber pitched in but I haven't seen him in a
long time.  Here is a blast from the past: http://www.ldraw.org/
Article63.html

Erik Olson actually had a Mac app before I got involved: Brickdraw
3D, http://olson.pair.com/brickdraw3d/.  He no longer supports it and
is no longer a Mac user AFAIK.  His app was built from LDGLite I
believe.

I worked with Don Heyse to create the Mac makefile for LDGLite
(basically I ran "./configure; make" and sent him the errors and he
fixed them and sent me new instructions) and then I believe
Christopher Masi took over helping him.

I worked with Lars C. Hassing pretty much the same way to get L3P
ported.

Then Andrew Allan made MBC (from LDGLite again I believe).  http://

I saw an app named LCX at an Apple WWDC and I talked to the developer
who wasn't interested in maintaining it (???!!!).  So I got the
source from him and offer the binary here: http://www.magnusviri.com/
lego/downloads/lcx.html.

Then Allen Smith released Bricksmith and I've been happy ever since!

And I was working with Travis Cobbs with LDView before you took
over.  My ability to code isn't as good as yours, so you were able to
get much farther much faster than I.  I welcome the work you are
doing as I'm pretty much satisfied with the tools I have, so I'm not
really pursing porting any more software.

I too think the state of LDraw on the Mac is looking great.

I'm quite pleased myself!  I'm finally starting to make some stuff.
But because animation is my real passion, I've basically been
devoting my time to try to get other modelers to make their models in
such a way that they can be animated.  I have hoped I could get
content from other modelers because I think they are better builders
than me.  :)  When my animation movie series is done, I think I'm
going to have to say I've done enough to try to teach others and I'll
probably just focus on creating my own content.

(...) Oh, OK. I could as well, but I thought I'd check if they wanted to put it on the same site as the original. Any way is fine by me. (...)
