Well I decided to take a break during the Memorial Day weekend, so I got
out my poking stick :)

Here goes...
A. Things I couldn't reproduce:
1. crash on save if file with same name already exist in save location:
could not reproduce

2. When saving a file when file with the same name already exists in
save location, the save dialogue box reappears after agreeing to
overwrite the existing file. The save dialogue box disappears after a
moment.

During one test run, the save command saved my file (an already existing
model) without putting up a dialogue box. During all other instances,
the save command put up a dialogue box. (I wonder if it over wrote the
file?)

B. Things that I could reproduce, but might have nothing to do with MBC:
1. Mac OS X 10.2.6 will not let me do a "change all" to change all "dat"
files to be opened by MBC 0.6. OS X 10.2.6 insists that the Chinese
something or other module should open the file. I change to a change
application for an individual file.

C. Things in the Getting Started file: look for ** in the excerpt below
In the Basic Controls (Mac OS X) section
'Options Menu'
Rotate - Causes to the model to spin about the selected axis (use x, y
and z keys to select the axis of rotation)
Back Face Cull - Tells render engine to not draw hidden surfaces (see
FAQ for more)
Step - Engages STEP rendering mode
Cycle Movement - Cycle between Coarse, Normal and Fine to dictate how
far the parts will move with the arrow keys
Movement - Coarse, Normal and Fine dictate how far the parts will move
with the arrow keys
**a menu command called "Show Model Text" appears here. It does what
"Show Parts" is supposed to do.
Show All Parts - Set all bricks to visible

'Piece Menu'
Colour - Select or change the colour of a piece
**Part Rotation - Rotate the select_e_ piece about the x, y or z axis
Select - Select piece name (see below for more)
**the following line is not in the piece menu as the getting started
document claims
Show Parts - Show the floating window describing the parts in LDRAW
format

D. Reproducible:
1. Oops, crashy crashy...
open dat file
make changes
save dat file
choose new from file menu
choose insert from edit menu (without selecting gray brick)
crash

launch MBC
click cancel
add brick by choosing insert from edit menu
save two bricks
select new from file menu
choose insert from edit menu (without selecting brick)
crash

launch MBC
click cancel
add brick by choosing insert from edit menu
save two bricks
select new from file menu
select brick
choose insert from edit menu
brick inserts without a problem

2. After working on a model, "black tanker", I selected new from the
file menu, and I started working on a new model. After adding seven
pieces, I pressed "command+s" and I heard the drive heads do their drive
head thing, but I was never given a save dialogue box (the model was
still "untitled"). I chose "save as" from the "file menu", named, and
saved the file, "red box car". I quit MBC. I double clicked "red box
car" and MBC Classic opened it. It was fine. I had a bad feeling so I
opened "black tanker". MBC 0.6 overwrote the data and "black tanker" was
now "red box car" :(.

Quick and easy way to reproduce the above...
Start MBC
Add a 2x4 brick
Change the color of the brick
Choose "save as"
Name and save the file, "gray, blue".
Select "New" from the "File" menu.
Select the brick (to avoid the crash described above), and insert a new
brick
Change the color of the brick to red
press "command+s"
Open "gray, blue" and you will see a gray and a red brick

3. Part rotate dialogue box will not accept user input while "Part Text
Details" box being displayed.

4. Save as dialogue box will not accept user input while the "Part Text
Details" box is being displayed
