Re: Bricksmith 2.1: A Step Up

Hey Allen, Great news! I look forward to giving this version a try. Before Bricksmith I always used to feel slightly under serviced by my Mac ; ) God Bless, Nathan (URL) (17 years ago, 27-Jan-09, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

  Bricksmith 2.1: A Step Up

Re: Still no zip file for 2008-01?

(...) snip (...) This is caused by the files: p/box3#8p.dat parts/s/swh2.dat parts/s/swh3.dat ...all of which are empty files in 2008-1. The next version of Bricksmith will not choke on such malformed files; in the meantime, don't use those files (...) (17 years ago, 7-Jan-09, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

Re: Still no zip file for 2008-01?

(...) That seems better than what I get. I had the loading parts window never go away, and when I exited and restarted Bricksmith, it just shows that window for a little bit and then crashes. This is what I see in the console log: 2009-01-01 (...) (17 years ago, 2-Jan-09, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

Re: Still no zip file for 2008-01?

(...) Is there something special that needs to be done with the above zip file after extracting to get Bricksmith to recognize the parts in it? No parts appeared in the parts selector when I had the preferences set to look at the ldraw folder (...) (17 years ago, 1-Jan-09, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

Re: Still no zip file for 2008-01?

(...) Since some popular LDraw programs are available for the Mac these days - LDView, LPub, L3Lab, and of course Bricksmith - I think it's only reasonable to provide parts updates in a format readily accessible to Mac users. Happily, the (URL) (...) (17 years ago, 31-Dec-08, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

  Re: *** LDView Version 4.0 Beta 1 Released ***

(...) I second that. I've been using it for all my latest renders and it's eliminated almost all hand-editing of POVray files. Top stuff! Tim (17 years ago, 7-Dec-08, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

  Re: *** LDView Version 4.0 Beta 1 Released ***

(...) ... (...) This is a big update. I heartily recommend you give it a try, especially if you are working with LPub or using a Mac (or both). Travis has made some great additions to the program. Jim (17 years ago, 2-Dec-08, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

Re: LPub Rotation Step angle woes

(...) I'll be putting ROTSTEP to use properly now, too. Thanks. (...) LDView 4 is awesome. From my perspective, recent versions of LDView, LPub, and Bricksmith form a Macintosh LDraw Power Triad. Jim (17 years ago, 7-Nov-08, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

Re: LPub Rotation Step angle woes

(...) I know. I used the form I did to confirm that the default viewing angle was mathematically messed up (and for dramatic emphasis). (...) I've got them, now it's time to test them. (...) Yes, actually, it was LDView that was confused. Travis' (...) (17 years ago, 7-Nov-08, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)
