When designing a part with a graphic on it, like a minifig torso, for instance, is it possible to "overlap" image shapes of different colors, or must there only be one "level" of image on a surface? How would LDraw represent a DAT which had layered (...) (25 years ago, 15-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

I think you got caught by the move. No doubt the old URLs were good when you composed your note but they are not any more. They all have moved to Lugnet. Hi Tim! One other thing... You mentioned in another group about James' background and history. One thing I would like to see is a picture of him. Can you contact his family or put feelers out.   MLCad Plugin Capability?
 
It would be really cool if programs like MLCad allowed plugins to be installed. This way, utility authors could write their utility as a plugin and have it installed so a user could work with his model from one program. Just an idea to throw out, (...) Hi all, With MLCad you can print out the models, right? It seems like the output is some postscript or vector drawing. I don't mold plastic for a living but I think when you design plastic parts you have to design what you want to actually get, to a very high tolerance, and then you have to design the mold, which will have DIFFERENT dimensions than the desired part, (...) (...) Sometimes, transparent parts have decorative printing. And the LDraw library should be written so that modelers can use any part in any color, even if LEGO hasn't released that part/color combination yet. Decorations on transparent parts shows (...)
