I support that (general) guideline.
The only real difficulty is if the meta-command becomes generally accepted,
and is 'promoted' to being an accepted standard. We'd either want a
different prefix for org standards, or no prefix. Either way requires a
syntax change.
The good news is I haven't run into (m)any meta-commands where changing the
syntax is so advanced that recognizing alternates would really be a burden
to the programs or programmers.
