Sorry about the delayed response, but I was on vacation. I'll take a look
at my sphere generation code as well and at the very least determine the
difficulty of adding type 5 lines. I don't think it will be very difficult
to do, but I haven't actually tried it yet ;-).
My sphere generator can generate a 1/8 sphere with an arbitrary number of
segments around each edge, so if you wanted something other than a
48-segment sphere (12-segment 1/8 sphere), it's trivial for me to produce; I
just have to add in the type 5 lines. However, if Jacob's has the same
ability, or you want one with the same number of facets his produces, you'll
likely get a faster response from him. Either way is probably better than
trying to produce one yourself, though; it's less trivial than one might
guess. I know it took me awhile to get my generalized sphere generation
code to produce results that I was satisfied with.
