Yes. This has been discussed before. The original version of the
part looks like the one in the library, while the new one is the way
you describe.
I have a few of the original axle extenders from 8857 Street Chopper.
BTW, lugnet.cad.dat.parts is for posting part DATs and followup
discussions.

| (...) What was the resolution on this? Any hope of getting a version that matches the "new" one? Usually you can just fudge it by rotating 45 degrees anyway, but once in a while it matters. (22 years ago, 18-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

| The Technic axle extender (6538.dat) may have an error. If you view an axle extender from an end and rotate it so that an inserted cross-axle would look like a "plus" (+) sign, the physical part will have detents around the circumference at 0, 90, (...) (23 years ago, 26-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)
