Yes.  This has been discussed before.  The original version of the
part looks like the one in the library, while the new one is the way
you describe.


I have a few of the original axle extenders from 8857 Street Chopper.


BTW, lugnet.cad.dat.parts is for posting part DATs and followup
discussions.

(...) What was the resolution on this? Any hope of getting a version that matches the "new" one? Usually you can just fudge it by rotating 45 degrees anyway, but once in a while it matters. (23 years ago, 18-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

The Technic axle extender (6538.dat) may have an error. If you view an axle extender from an end and rotate it so that an inserted cross-axle would look like a "plus" (+) sign, the physical part will have detents around the circumference at 0, 90, (...) (23 years ago, 26-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)
