Hi,
as for the startup splash why not make an option in an ini file so that you can
disable it if you want, or better yet make it a timed dialog so that it will
time out anyway. Same thing for the color depth stuff and error reporting, just
have a options where you can activate/deactivate the popups, and just redirect
them to either a log file or to the status bar. Sometimes there might be an
error that pops up that you ignore but must see, so being able to look into a
log file might give some hint as to what went wrong.

All in all, l3Lab is cool!

Thanks, your suggestions sound reasonable, I'll have them in mind.

PS, is there any way you can add lights and stuff from L3Lab, or do you need to
do all this stuff inside of POV. I'd actually like to do it in say ldraw or
MLCad as a new type of command. Still can't get the spotlights to work!

L3P recognizes the light.dat file(s) if you call it with the -l option, see l3p.txt.
The spotlite.dat file are, however, not supported: spotlights need more parameters
than the spotlite.dat can provide.

Use MLCad to add the light.dat file(s) and position it/them around your model.
