It's all OSS, so it makes life easier.  I beleive (don't know) that the
VNC client for Mac is stable, it's just the server that is beta.

You'll need the matching packages for your linux system.  They come in
.deb and TurboLinux on the install media.  I don't remember what
distribution you had.
