I took a gander at the patterned baseplates and noticed something disturbing:
Half of the (14 existing) patterns don't line up properly.  There is much
variation between line thickness and positioning, and I don't think there
should be.  Most, if not all, of my baseplates line up properly, so I think • all
the baseplates need to be looked at in-depth and a standard set for them.

The ones that seem correct are the four 9-stud road patterns and three of the
7-stud road w/sidewalk patterns (the one not included is the straight).
Luckily, these seven have the same line positioning and thickness, so they're
okay.

You are correct, sir.   I was aware of that, and Steve Bliss has already said
he will fix those of his that are in error, as well as an original piece by
James.
At the time he said this, I already had the update all ready to go, and so
decided to go ahead and release it as-is and worry about fixing the alignment
problems in an update.

You are right in suggesting we need a standard.  Future baseplates should be
required to correctly align with existing plates.  This is something we need • to
pay more attention to.

Steve and I have also been trying to standardize the names of the baseplates,
so hopefully we can also fix any alignment problems at the same time.

Okie Dokie.  I wasn't sure if there was anything being done on the subject.  ;)
