Just to be really clear, I made a part-file for a 32x32 landingpadplate
where the corner studs were laid out like this:

o o o o o o o o o
o o o o o o o o o
o o o o o o o o o
o o o o o o o o
o o o o o o o
o o o o o o
o o o o o
o o o o
o o o

The plate has a large yellow circle with white dashed cross-hairs.

As far as I can tell, I got this plate from an accessory pack, which
probably included one landing plate and a matching T-intersection plate.

are we talking about the same part?

Apparently not.

Same Part, Different Printing.

i am talking about the part that comes with
the airport sets (i forget which ones) and has 2 white circles on it.
it came in green in all the airport sets it was used in.

That's not the one I did.

The original Airport had the one Jonathan is refering to.  The other two
Airports used crossroads with smaller circles.

i think that there was also a set containing one of these and 1 t-junction.

There were at least a couple of different accessory packs like this.

Steve

Only for Space landing plates, I believe.  There may have been a European
Service pack with Green airport ones, though.

(...) Yup, I have that one, too. The original 6392 Airport had a green one with two concentric circles. You can see most of it here: < (URL) > Jeff (25 years ago, 14-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)
