After a tentative private contact with Dan Boger, i announce my CaroML project
(formerly Peeroml) has come to a dead end.
I take this opportunity to apologize:
* because i have tentatively stolen other people work
* because when told i was not allowed to, i have exposed my frustration, thus i
have implicitly claimed the right to pillage the Peeron.com database
* because i made abusive usage of this forum for a negotiation that should have
been private only
I am also thankful to the following people:
* Dan Boger who never accused me of anything, neither publicly nor privately,
whereas i was continously pleading my illegal cause
* Timothy Gould who made me aware of what i was really doing and gave me
additionnal common sense advices
Not only i have improved my programming skills when developping CaroML, but i
also have learned how much more respecful i must be in my development process.
Unique or specific programming skills does not give me special rights.
Restrospectively it seems to me lugnet/cad/dev is not the best place to push the
Lego-Cad developments.
The only thing you can do here is to make 3 kinds of proclamations:
* either "let's do it, doing something is better than doing nothing"
* or "we should do things that way, i have the plan, just implement it"
* or "look how i have done it, it's the way to go"
I have used the 3rd kind of proclamation and discovered it's no more productive
than the two others. Now it seems to me things can progress more steadily under
the hood and development at early stage should use private exchange rather than
public forum. A forum is a place where users share their experience with the
tools, that is a media for existing tools to mature, not a media for new tools
to emerge.
I am still a fan of legos and LDraw, and one day i will be wise enough to make a
real contribution.
