  An idea

Wouldn't it be neat if, when you load a model in a CAD program, if a piece in the model is missing, it could automatically download the missing part from ldraw.org for you? Or periodically poll ldraw.org to see if DAT file updates are available, and (...) (23 years ago, 2-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

LDraw.org MOTM and SOTM winners for August 2001

Hi All, This announcement is a *tad* early as I won't be around this evening or on the first. Consider it Karmic balance for the times I was late. :-) Frankly, I was a bit surprised this month. In both categories (Model & Scene), there was an early (...) (23 years ago, 31-Jul-01, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Re: LDraw setp help

Tim, has any progress been made with the parts library license? It clearly would help if MLCad could be a stand-alone install without the confusion of downloading multiple programs. -gyug (...) (23 years ago, 29-Jul-01, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.mlcad, lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Re: LDraw setp help

(...) I can not use DOS or any programming systems because I do not know any computer languages except for a VERY small fraction of BASIC. There has also been a strange message when I downloaded MLCad on to my computer. The message said that it (...) (23 years ago, 28-Jul-01, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.mlcad, lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Author key in ldraw.ini\[LDraw]

I have added Author key in the [LDraw] section of ldraw.ini, just because I was tired of filling it in every time I run LDA2001. The value of the ident will be suggested as a default author next time you start an application reading it. Anyone who (...) (23 years ago, 28-Jul-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Model & Scene of the Month voting at ldraw.org

D'Oh! That does it. If John's not happy, I'm gonna have to scrap the whole thing. Not. :-) -- Terry K -- (...) (23 years ago, 27-Jul-01, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: Model & Scene of the Month voting at ldraw.org

Aaakk! This is worse trying to vote for the two categories! Before there was often a well done model in a well done scene that stood out. Now there are a bunch of well done models to choose from, and a bunch of well done scenes to choose from. Great (...) (23 years ago, 27-Jul-01, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Model & Scene of the Month voting at ldraw.org

Well, Here it is. I think I have this thing working alright - at least my testing works properly. So give it a go. Choose an area (Model and/or Scene) and vote away! (URL) Terry K -- (23 years ago, 26-Jul-01, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: Is this part 4459 or part 3673 ?

If the pin is black it is probably 4459 "Technic Pin with Friction". #3673 "Technic Pin" is grey. (...) -- Calvin Walton (23 years ago, 26-Jul-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  LDraw setp help

(...) I did not say try MLCad before LDraw. I said try it *instead*. Here's the skinny: LDraw and the DAT file format are the original developments by James Jessiman. They were made in 1996 or thereabouts, before he died. His original editing tool, (...) (23 years ago, 26-Jul-01, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.mlcad, lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)
