I need help with the new tread links

Can someone please help me with tips on using the new technic link tread piece? -- Jonathan Wilson wilsonj@xoommail.com (URL) (25 years ago, 24-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

(...) Sure, I'd help. But *practically* <grin> how would it fit in? Would there be a 'Non-Lego' main section of the site as in (URL) Because it can't go under /download/updates/ - that's saved for official L-CAD [1] parts updates. I don't think it (...)   Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

[ XFUT lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw and lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands ] Dave Schuler: I don't think I would ever use clone parts (as in shape, not necessarily as in producer) myself, but I definitely think that we should admit that LDraw can be used for (...)   Re: Whither L3P?

(...) Internet Explorer. Maybe this will help: try to copy/paste the URL into the address box of your browser. The address box is the place where you can enter a URL by typing it directly with the keyboard. Greetings, Manfred Moolhuysen. (25 years ago, 24-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: New part: Plate 6 x 6 x 2/3 Cross with Dome - 30303.dat

(...) Thanks, and I agree. At this point I am looking for practice with developing parts. I realize that there are parts people are wanting very badly, Let them experience some patience. We have just began our collection of parts, and will not spend (...) (25 years ago, 24-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

(...) Good disclaimer. (...) Understood. (...) Its commendable what you're doing here, Dave. Its pretty controversial, and I'll be one of the first people to admit that I'm against it, but it still should be taken at face-value: a contribution. You (...)   Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

(...) They are clearly different situations. Both sites are led by individuals. In Todd's case with Lugnet, he does own it and can make decisions on his own about what happens to it without room for question. In my case with ldraw.org, I serve as (...)   Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

(...) Here's part of the disclaimer I've already attached in the zip-file: I know my efforts may seem like heresy to a number of AFOL's, and I apologize for any stepped-on toes. Let me state plainly that the pieces included here are ABSOLUTELY (...) (25 years ago, 24-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

(...) Count me in the minority, then. Making parts is hard. If someone wants to make parts I say more power to them. Perhaps making clone parts will refine their modeling skill, which has to be a good thing for all of us. I understand the issues but (...) (25 years ago, 24-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

(...) Though there might be some interest in them, I don't think they should be sanctioned officially from Lugnet or ldraw.org. (...) Agreed. (...) I think that anyone who wants to distribute clone parts should do them on their own personal web (...) (25 years ago, 23-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)
