  Re: Steering Committee results

(...) Me too. And Travis, thanks for taking the time to do some thinking about who ought to be nominated and getting all those nominations in early... (...) Good question. Here's my personal view (and only that, for now)... I like "SteerCo" for the (...) (20 years ago, 15-May-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Re: Steering Committee results

(...) I'd like to add my own congratulations to the new committee members. I do have one question, though (only half tongue-in-cheek). Are we going to stop calling the (pre-existing) LDraw Standards Committee the LSC in order to avoid confusion with (...) (20 years ago, 15-May-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Re: Question about Java3D

(...) Orion, There is a Java3D developer installer for Mac OS X, so it isn't available to the public yet.   Re: Question about Java3D

(...) Thanks for the insight Kyle. Here's my next question... I'm not looking to buy a Java IDE (I've already purchased Delphi and Visual Studio in the last year) so I went looking for a good, free IDE. I've found 2 that seem to be in wide use: (...) (20 years ago, 13-May-04, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Question about Java3D

(...) Oh I should add, that while I haven't run my program on MacOS X, I have run the exact same code on Solaris, Linux, and Windows, and It was really impressive how it just worked. I didn't even have to recompile. :) -Kyle (20 years ago, 13-May-04, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Question about Java3D

(...) Hi Orion. I've been lurking here awhile and I've seen the stuff you've done for LDraw. I'm glad I can finally answer a question or two. While I do work for Sun, I don't work in the group that does Java3D, however I do know some of the (...) (20 years ago, 13-May-04, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Question about Java3D

(...) I'm going to try to learn Java3D regardless of portability if for no other reason than to do something new. I already have a fair working knowledge of OpenGL, I'm trying to expand my horizons. This is why I asked if there was anyone who has (...) (20 years ago, 13-May-04, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Question about Java3D

(...) Read this. (URL) you want to consider using OpenGL instead since many implementations of java 3D are built on top of OpenGL. You can take any new OpenGL skills you learn with you to other languages. Don (20 years ago, 12-May-04, to lugnet.cad.dev)
