Re: unofficial new primitive -- "Rounded Corner"

Ooo, cool. That means each of the colored faces in your image is a 1-4disc.dat, right? That'll work very nicely. I'll forward this to the primitives committee. Do you mind if I use it in the skeleton leg file? Steve (...) (24 years ago, 15-Sep-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

Re: unofficial new primitive -- "Rounded Corner"

(...) UPDATE! It _is_ part of a sphere, I just realized, a sphere having a radius of "the square root of 2"! This primitive is one octant of that sphere with three faces "planed/smoothed off" so that the resulting object will fit inside a cube (...)   Re: unofficial new primitive -- "Rounded Corner"

It is not part of a sphere. It can be thought of as a virtual cube which has had one corner sliced away in a curved fashion. Or to put it another way, it is the grey area in this image: "(URL) radii are "1", and its angles are 90 degrees (i.e., 1/4 (...) (24 years ago, 15-Sep-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

Re: unofficial new primitive -- "Rounded Corner"

[snipped Franklin's post] Some comments/questions: What is the definition of this part? Is it a section of a sphere? What are the angles and radii of the curved edges? Could you reverse the shape, so it is convex? This would make it easier to fit (...) (24 years ago, 15-Sep-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

Re: unofficial new primitive -- "Rounded Corner"

OK, I've finished this primitive, but before I re-submit it, I need to know a couple of things... Just what do I call the DAT file? On my PC's hard drive, I'm calling it "RND-CRNR.DAT". Is that food enough? Also, what extra steps (if any) do I need (...) (24 years ago, 15-Sep-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives, lugnet.cad.dev)

unofficial new primitive -- "Rounded Corner"  [DAT]

Hi, While encoding the Arm piece for the Minifig Skeleton, I encountered something for which I needed a primitive (and I couldn't find anything like it among the existing primitives). At the "wrist" of the Skeleton Arm, there are four (...) (24 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

(...) 4-4cone1.dat is actually named 4-4con1.dat. The only officially-released part which references 4-4cone1.dat is 2500C01.DAT.   Re: 4-4cone1.dat and stu25.dat

(...) 4-4cone1.dat and stu25.dat I don't know for 4-4cone1.dat. For stu25.dat the error comes because you use simplified representation of studs. In this case MLcad replaces studx.dat by stu2x.dat. But the file stu25.dat does not exist. To solve the (...) (24 years ago, 16-Aug-00, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

When I saw Tore post his 1-4ring4 primitive, I realised that I hadn't posted my 2-4ring4. However, since he has posted the 1-4, I rewrote my 2-4 to use his as its base file.
