Disappearing backslash? (was: parts i'd like to see in Lcad/MLcad) —Steve Bliss
XFUT lugnet.admin.general (...) This is odd. When viewing my original posting through the web interface, the backslash between 'ldraw' and 'parts' is not displayed. But looking at the raw message, the backslash is actually present. I wonder if this (...) (18 years ago, 1-Aug-06, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

(...) In FTX mode, you have to use a double backslash to be guaranteed that it will show up: ldraw\parts\s. I don't know why the single backslash shows up before the s, but not before the p. --Travis (18 years ago, 1-Aug-06, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

(...) It doesn't matter whether there is additional text within a double backlash or not: In FTX The first one is used to show the second one. E.g. \ldraw\par\ts\s would become ldraw\parts\s too... -Rene (18 years ago, 1-Aug-06, to lugnet.admin.general)

(...) OK, now that's just plain weird. So you're saying that every odd backslash will show up in an FTX post, no matter where they are, right? I confess that I fail to see the reasoning behind this behavior. It's worth noting that I couldn't find (...) (18 years ago, 1-Aug-06, to lugnet.admin.general)

(...) Hi Travis, sorry, but FTX/Perl isn't _my_ invention ;-) I could imagine it has something to do with Perl (AYMK, LUGNET is based upon Perl). The backslash in combination with a char is a so-called "control character" in Perl and also used to (...) (18 years ago, 2-Aug-06, to lugnet.admin.general)

(...) Wow, that's really weird. Ya gotta love PML... Steve (18 years ago, 2-Aug-06, to lugnet.admin.general)

Bug fix for disappearing backslash (was: Re: Disappearing backslash?) —Todd Lehman
(...) Hmm, that *is* weird. This isn't actually a PML thing, though, but an FTX thing. The FTX-to-HTML converter runs as a seperate self-contained module; all PML parsing occurs prior to the FTX-to-HTML conversion. The backslash in FTX was intended (...)
