(...) Before renumbering we need to understand where these numbers came from. Being 4-digit numbers, we must assume that someone, at some time, thought they were correct. Nor is it beyond the bounds of possibility that LEGO used the same number more (...) (21 years ago, 22-Nov-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)
