This is an argument to which I've received no resolution. Please view this
post and answer my questions to the best of your ability.

I wrote earlier on lugnet.cad.dat.parts:

Is anyone out there working on the more functional version of the
4212 10 x 4 x 2/3 car base, as used in #6390 Main Street? If so or if not, >> >I could use some help with mine. Unlike the new one, this one is able to be >> >connected with a Technic pin in the center, as well as hold a 2x4 brick or >> >plate underneath it.
The new one is smooth underneath and for technical reasons, should be
called the 10 x 4 x (18/24) car base -- it's 2 L-CAD units lower than the
original (which was the exact size of 2 stcked plates)! The seat hole (2x2) >> >rises to the level of the first plate, while on the new one, the seat hole >> >is one plate-height lower, this calling for the unneeded extra 2 units, and >> >a widening of the initial town seat hole. When this project is completed, I >> >shall submit it as 4212a.dat, Car Base 10 x 4 x 2/3, Old. If you have a  suggestion, reply to me.

P.S.: My completed version (thus far) has a problem involving the lack
of a hollow opening where the Technic pin hole should be. Help.

You'll need two 4-4ndis.dat's and a 4-4cyli.dat for this.  The ndis
("not-disc" I think) gives you a square with a round hole through it.  One of
these on the top face and one on the bottom face connected by a cylinder will
give you the hollow opening.  Then you fill in the top and bottom faces around
the squares.

Hope this helps, I don't have the part in front of me.

Thanks, John. It really did help. I already had those parts, but forgot to
eliminate an old box5.dat. It has now been replaced with 4 rect.dats and 8
quadrilateral entries.
