OK,

I downloaded the unofficial parts files from ldraw.org and placed them in my
"models" directory (so I don't contaminate my "official" parts directory),
but how do I get MLCAD to switch to look at them?  Nothing is shown under my
"models" tree in the program.  I even reran the mklist.exe, but I don't
think any additional parts were found...

On another note, why is there both a PARTS directory, and a P directory?

Thanks,

-Jeff McClain

This is my recommendation.

1. Create the following folders:
\ldraw\models\Unoffical_Parts
\ldraw\models\Unoffical_Parts\InUse
\ldraw\models\Unoffical_Parts\NotInUse

2. Now place the parts that you will be using into the \InUse folder and
those that you will not into the \NotInUse folder.

3. Now copy all the files in your \InUse folder and paste them into
\ldraw\parts folder.

4. Now you need to run the mklist.exe located in the \ldraw\ folder
this file will recreate the parts list table that ldraw and mlcad use to
show you the parts you have.

Now if you ever decide to get rid of the unoffical parts you can look at
your InUse folder and look for those file in the \parts folder and delte
them.  After that you need to rerun the mklist.exe

Hope this helps...
